Gerber: Gold Easier to Use Than Bitcoin
Investment advisor Ross Gerber has expressed skepticism about Bitcoin's (BTC) utility in everyday life, stating that gold remains easier to use in many places. He made these comments on X while responding to a discussion about Bitcoin's use cases.
Gerber questioned what the crypto industry has built that provides meaningful value, adding 'Probably easier to use gold than bitcoin in most places still.'
In addition to his concerns about Bitcoin's real-world utility, Gerber also raised issues with the direction of the Bitcoin mining industry. He noted that several major Bitcoin miners are increasingly turning toward artificial intelligence infrastructure and selling computing capacity for AI workloads rather than focusing exclusively on cryptocurrency mining.
Gerber has been critical of Michael Saylor's aggressive advocacy for Bitcoin, stating it makes him less enthusiastic about the cryptocurrency. This criticism follows a series of negative comments from Gerber about Saylor and Strategy's decision to sell BTC.
