Gerber Kawasaki CEO Turns Skeptic on Bitcoin Amid Saylor Controversy
Ross Gerber, founder and CEO of asset manager Gerber Kawasaki Wealth, has expressed skepticism about Bitcoin due to Michael Saylor's handling of the cryptocurrency. In a recent post on X (formerly Twitter), Gerber stated that he could no longer take Bitcoin seriously because of Saylor's actions.
This is not the first time Gerber has criticized Saylor, having accused him in June of misleading the market by claiming he would never sell Bitcoin. However, Saylor did later execute a sale that triggered a market downturn and forced the liquidation of speculative positions, which Gerber described as a 'rug pull.'
The incident highlights concerns about the concentration of Bitcoin holdings among a few large players, such as MicroStrategy, which holds a significant portion of the total Bitcoin supply. The actions of these companies can have outsized effects on price and affect everyday investors' portfolios.
