Germany Expands Lead in EU MiCA Licensing Rollout

Share

The European Union's Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) register has added six more crypto asset service providers, bringing the total number of authorized entities to 331. Germany is leading the way with 79 CASPs, followed by France and the Netherlands.

In the latest update from ESMA, six German cooperative banks have been added to the list of licensed entities: Raiffeisenbank Aidlingen, Ihre Volksbank, VR-Bank Mittelfranken Mitte, Volksbank Euskirchen, VR Bank Ried-Überwald, and Volksbank Backnang.

This expansion reinforces Germany's position as the most active EU market in terms of MiCA authorizations. The country's lead has been building quickly, with its total standing at 57 CASPs in late June.
