Girin Labs' XRPL-Native Card Secures FinCEN MSB License, Paving Way for Banking Relations
The XRP Ledger ecosystem has reached a significant regulatory milestone with Girin Labs' XRPL-native self-custody crypto card securing a FinCEN MSB license. This approval under the Bank Secrecy Act's AML/CTF framework allows the card to process real-world payments using XRP and RLUSD, marking a major step towards establishing banking relations and partnering with major institutions.
Girin Labs stated that 'The regulatory foundation is set. One step closer to making XRPL the rails for everyday spending.' The registration covers specific payment flows, including compliant conversion and settlement of crypto assets.
The Girin Card was introduced in March as the first XRPL-native self-custody card, enabling users to spend XRP and RLUSD at over 130 million merchants across more than 150 countries. Its roadmap includes enterprise-grade APIs and white-label payment infrastructure, allowing partners to launch their own card programs on the rails that Girin has built and tested.
