Glamsterdam Test Implementation Date Set Amid Stability Concerns
Ethereum developers have set a tentative date for the test implementation of Glamsterdam on Sepolia, but concerns over the lack of stability in the development process remain.
The upgrade, scheduled to launch on October 6 at 13:53 UTC, has been met with reservations from several key stakeholders, including Christine D. Kim, who highlighted technical issues that have yet to be resolved.
The decision to push forward with the implementation on Sepolia comes despite the fact that a stable developer testnet (devnet) has not yet been achieved, and the most recent devnet, Glamsterdam-Devnet-9, was plagued by issues related to validator nodes.
Stefan Starflinger, responsible for developer operations at the Ethereum Foundation, acknowledged that the network still faces numerous challenges and edge cases, while Maria Silva confirmed a bug in EIP-8037 that requires fixes from all execution layer clients.
