Glamsterdam Upgrade Finalizes Scope, Testing Begins

The Ethereum upgrade, Glamsterdam, has finalized its scope after excluding two proposals. EIP-7610 and EIP-7919 were deemed incompatible with the upgrade's goals.

Glamsterdam is now in the testing phase, with the first publicly participatory testnet, Plattaberg, already released. This testnet operates under a hard cap gas limit to ensure compatibility checks.

The Ethereum Foundation has also launched the Post-Quantum Auto-Research Challenge, which will compete for the safety upper bounds of hash-based SNARKs on a public leaderboard.
