Glamsterdam Upgrade Targets Oct. 6 on Sepolia, Conditional on Stable Private Testing

Ethereum developers have scheduled the Glamsterdam upgrade for activation on Sepolia at 13:53 UTC on October 6, 2026. This tentative date is conditional upon a stable activation on a private development network.

Earlier testing revealed consensus and execution bugs, including an issue with EIP-8037 code, which changes how Ethereum charges gas for creating new state.

The next test, Devnet-11, is scheduled to launch on September 14. A successful outcome will give client teams another environment for testing the combined Glamsterdam specifications before Sepolia's activation.

Developers have not confirmed dates for Hoodi or mainnet, but a possible December activation remains under discussion.
