Glamsterdam Upgrade Targets October 6, Conditional on Devnet-11 Success
Ethereum developers have set their sights on Oct. 6 for the Sepolia activation of the Glamsterdam upgrade, although the testing sequence remains conditional.
The selection of epoch 351232 for Sepolia's proposed activation was made during the Sept. 3 All Core Developers Consensus meeting, which took place before developers could demonstrate stable performance across private test networks used for Glamsterdam.
This tentative schedule is contingent on a successful Devnet-11, planned to launch on Sept. 14, where fixes will be tested in anticipation of Sepolia's activation.
A previous private devnet test had exposed consensus and execution bugs, including an implementation issue connected with EIP-8037 code, which separates state-creation costs from normal execution costs through a multidimensional gas model.
