Glamsterdam Upgrade Tentative for Oct 6 Sepolia Testnet

Ethereum developers have scheduled the Glamsterdam upgrade for Ethereum's Sepolia testnet on October 6 at 13:53 UTC, despite ongoing testing issues.

The date is conditional on successful devnet testing, which has uncovered several bugs and edge cases. The largest private devnet, Devnet-9, launched on September 1 with 1,000 validator nodes but failed to finalize due to incorrect proposing and attesting of the chain head.

Protocol specialist Christine D. Kim noted that developers agreed to the October 6 Sepolia date while acknowledging several caveats. EF developer operations engineer Stefan Starflinger said the network's size exposed problems, noting 'quite a few edge cases and issues' left to address.
