Glassnode Opens Up Data Access for AI Agents through x402 Payments
Glassnode has introduced pay-per-request access to its onchain and crypto market data through Coinbase's x402 payment protocol. This integration enables AI agents and developers to retrieve Glassnode Advanced API metrics without an API key or subscription.
Each request is authorized through a USDC payment on Base, with a cost of $0.05 for each Advanced API metric and $0.01 for metadata endpoints. Glassnode notes that pricing and availability may change, so clients should confirm the latest amount included in each payment request.
The service uses the HTTP 402 Payment Required response, which returns the amount and payment instructions when an agent calls a Glassnode endpoint without payment. The agent must sign the USDC payment and repeat the request with a payment signature before receiving the requested data.
