Glassnode Opens Up Premium Analytics to AI Agents via Coinbase
Glassnode has made its extensive library of on-chain analytics available to AI agents that can pay for it using Coinbase and USDC. The integration allows AI systems to autonomously discover, query, and purchase premium data without human intervention.
The collaboration between Glassnode and Coinbase involved building a protocol called x402 and the 'Coinbase for Agents' platform, which enables AI systems to conduct financial transactions using USDC digital wallets. On Glassnode's side, the company launched its Model Context Protocol (MCP) server in beta, offering seven tools specifically designed for AI clients like Claude and ChatGPT.
The MCP server provides capabilities such as fetch_metric and bulk data queries, allowing AI agents to pull specific analytics without needing a browser or human intermediary. Glassnode offers over 7,500 metrics across more than 1,200 assets, covering exchange flows, long-term holder behavior, and miner revenue breakdowns.
