Global Crypto Adoption Surpasses 1 Billion Users Amid Market Pullback

The global cryptocurrency adoption index has reached a milestone of over 1 billion users, representing around 12.24% of the world's population.

This number surpasses the 2025 high of $4.2 trillion in market capitalization and stands at around $2.67 trillion after a recent market pullback.

The majority of these users are from emerging economies, where cryptocurrency adoption is driven by peer-to-peer commerce and inflation hedging.

In particular, India leads the world in total user volume with 127 million projected users, while Nigeria has the highest per-capita crypto adoption at around 47% of its adult population.
