Global Crypto Market Hits $2.6 Trillion as Bitcoin Retreats from Record Highs

The global crypto market has reached USD 2.6 trillion in value as of August 31, 2026, with Bitcoin holding a significant portion at USD 1.6 trillion.

This comes after Bitcoin retreated from its record highs by 38% since October 2025, according to the Crypto Wealth Report 2026 released by Henley & Partners.

The report also notes that there are 135,694 crypto millionaires worldwide, each holding USD 1 million or more in digital assets, with 92,272 of them being Bitcoin millionaires.
