Global Crypto Market Surges Past $2.7 Trillion for First Time in Three Months
The global cryptocurrency market capitalization has surged by nearly $500 billion in just one week, surpassing $2.7 trillion for the first time in roughly three months.
This significant increase is a result of investment fervor spilling over from equity markets into digital assets. The 'stocks → crypto' rotation seen during the 2021 bull market is being closely watched to see if it will repeat itself.
Major cryptocurrencies are rising in tandem, with Bitcoin up 22.5% week-over-week and Ethereum gaining 28.6%. XRP and Solana surged 43.4% and 25.7%, respectively.
South Korean exchanges have seen a significant expansion in trading volume, with Upbit's 24-hour trading volume reaching $1.129 billion, up 192.4% week-over-week.
