Global Illegal Online Gambling Market Hits $50 Billion
A new report has exposed the $50 billion global illegal online gambling market's risks, highlighting its use of cryptocurrency payments and complex networks to evade regulations.
The report estimates that this market generated around $50 billion in gross revenue in 2025, with a significant portion coming from Europe. It found that operators are using mirror websites, VPN access, and browser-based platforms to restore access when individual sites are blocked.
The research identified 'Non-GamStop' casinos promoted to people who have registered with the UK's self-exclusion scheme, GAMSTOP. These platforms often advertise fewer restrictions, including no identity verification, financial checks, or betting limits.
According to a spokesperson for Fincord Intelligence, illegal gambling is no longer just a collection of isolated websites but operates through sophisticated international networks involving payment providers, cryptocurrency services, affiliates, advertisers, software companies, and hosting infrastructure.
