Global Institutionalization to Drive Next Stage of Bitcoin Adoption
Bitcoin's current bull cycle peak may be driven by institutional capital and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) outside of the United States, according to Ki Young Ju, founder and CEO of Cryptoquant.
Ju pointed out that while the US has seen significant adoption of bitcoin ETFs, with spot funds accumulating about $57 billion in net inflows during their first two years, other countries are still lagging behind.
He cited South Korea as an example, where despite a Financial Services Commission (FSC) roadmap to allow corporate participation and qualified professional investors, most companies remain unable to open exchange accounts to purchase BTC. Retail investors cannot buy foreign-listed spot bitcoin ETFs either.
Ju forecast that the peak of this bull cycle will likely be driven by institutional money and ETFs outside the US, and expects both investment access and supporting infrastructure to spread beyond the US market.
