Global Listed Companies Surge in Bitcoin Purchases
The global market for listed companies has seen a significant surge in Bitcoin purchases over the past week. According to data from SoSoValue, the total net purchase of Bitcoin by listed companies worldwide (excluding mining companies) reached $81.48 million, representing an increase of 1431.6% compared to the previous week.
Strategy, however, opted out of buying or selling Bitcoin last week but did dispose of a significant portion of its MSTR shares, raking in $2 billion in revenue from the sale of 18,261,118 ordinary shares.
Metaplanet, a Japanese listed company, continued its streak of not purchasing Bitcoin for six consecutive weeks. On the other hand, two companies announced their acquisition of Bitcoin: Strive, an asset management firm that purchased $81.48 million worth of Bitcoin at a price of $73,409 per unit and now holds approximately 21,356 units; Bitmine, an Ethereum-focused assets company, bought one more Bitcoin but did not disclose the exact amount.
