Glyde's Chase Mode Ignites Controversy with Lack of Transparency
Glyde has launched Chase Mode, a new pack-opening format that keeps ripping packs until the user pulls their chosen card. The feature is live at collect.glyde.gg/chase and allows users to settle on-chain in USDC on Base.
Unlike traditional pack-ripping platforms, Glyde's Chase Mode doesn't require users to pay for a single pull or disclose pricing, odds, or ceilings. Instead, the user names a target card, and the platform rips against it continuously, with the math working out based on the cost of a run and the attached odds.
Glyde is built around a claw-pull mechanic, where users pull to win an actual card that already sits in a vault. They can then sell it back for cash or redeem the physical graded slab via a Glyde wallet.
The launch post didn't provide details on how Chase Mode works, leaving users to figure out the math behind it. However, competitors like Tilt Rips and Beezie have transparent odds and pricing, making it clear that Glyde is taking a risk with its new format.
