GMEx Token Offers Round-the-Clock Access to GameStop Price View
The GameStop on Solana (GMEx) token has been available for round-the-clock trading, providing crypto users with access to GameStop's price view even when Nasdaq is closed. However, it's essential to understand that GMEx neither represents GME common stock nor places its owner on GameStop's shareholder register.
The token provides a tracker certificate issued as a Solana SPL token and an ERC-20 token on EVM-compatible networks, aiming to track GameStop's share price. Its legal structure determines what access it provides, so GMEx holders have no voting rights or direct legal ownership of the GameStop shares held in custody.
The token's pricing can differ from GameStop's final Nasdaq price due to weekend price gaps, which may persist until regular US trading returns. Eligible issuers and redeemers can use available issuance or redemption routes if the gap exceeds their costs, but ordinary DEX holders cannot assume they have access to those routes.
xStocks' GMEx product record describes it as a bearer debt instrument structured as a tracker certificate, providing economic exposure to the underlying equity. The token's price can sit above or below GameStop's final Nasdaq price from Friday due to onchain supply, demand, and traders' expectations.
