GMX V2.2b Contracts Face Shutdown on September 14, Integrators Must Migrate
GMX is shutting down its v2.2b synthetics contracts on September 14, 2026, as part of a migration cycle that started with an earlier deprecation timeline announced on August 17. The protocol has urged integrators to migrate to the newer v2.2c contracts before the deadline.
The v2.2c contracts have expanded invariant checks and role-management protections. Funding mechanisms have been updated, oracle validations refined, and collateral caps adjusted. For integrators specifically, the migration involves more than just flipping a switch - new ExchangeRouter, Reader, and SimulationRouter addresses need to be plugged in, along with updated ABIs and modified struct definitions.
GMX has published deployment addresses and comprehensive changelogs on its GitHub repository. The protocol first flagged the v2.2b deprecation timeline on August 17, giving integrators roughly a month to prepare. However, the September 14 deadline is firm, and integrators who haven't started their migration should clear their calendars.
