Gold, Bitcoin Surge as Investors Flee Dollar Amid Fiscal Concerns
Investors are pouring billions into gold and Bitcoin ETFs as concerns over the U.S. fiscal deficit, government debt, and dollar outlook resurface.
Over the past five trading days, exchange-traded funds (ETFs) tracking gold and Bitcoin attracted a record combined inflow of approximately $7 billion, with these two scarce assets re-emerging as key safe-haven destinations for global capital.
The SPDR Gold Shares ETF (GLD.US) drew nearly $3.4 billion in inflows over the past five trading days, while BlackRock's iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF (IBIT.US) saw net inflows of around $1.5 billion.
Both funds ranked among the top ten U.S. ETFs by inflow volume during the same period, with GLD's inflows trailing only a few large equity ETFs, including the S&P 500 ETF (VOO.US).
