Gold Surges Past $4,600 Amid US Financial Concerns
Gold prices surged past $4,600 per ounce as investors sought safe-haven assets amidst concerns over US debt, the dollar, and inflation.
The Comex gold price ended Friday at $4,624.10, up 5.6% for the week and more than 14% over three weeks.
Peter Schiff, a vocal advocate for gold investments, argued that investors should favor bullion over Bitcoin after the latter's explosive weekly rally.
Schiff tied both rallies to the same shift in US financial conditions but claimed that easier money ultimately strengthens the case for precious metals.
