Goldman Sachs has agreed to acquire NEOS Investments in a deal worth up to $2.25 billion, expanding its presence in the crypto market.

The purchase gives Goldman Sachs Asset Management a ready-made crypto income ETF business, which is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027 pending regulatory approval.

NEOS's flagship Bitcoin covered-call fund, BTCI, has amassed around $1 billion in assets since launching and generates monthly income by selling options against Bitcoin exposure.

Giving Goldman instant scale in a niche it had only just entered on paper, the deal is seen as a faster route than its own April filing for a Bitcoin Premium ETF.
