Goldman Sachs Acquires NEOS Investments for $2.25 Billion Crypto Expansion
Goldman Sachs has agreed to buy NEOS Investments for up to $2.25 billion, expanding its presence in the market for funds that combine cryptocurrency exposure with options strategies.
The deal will bring in $30 billion in assets across 19 ETFs and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2027, subject to regulatory approval.
NEOS' lineup includes the Bitcoin High Income ETF (BTCI), which has about $1.1 billion in net assets, as well as the NEOS Boosted Bitcoin High Income ETF (XBCI) and the NEOS Ethereum High Income ETF (NEHI).
The funds do not hold Bitcoin or Ethereum directly but use exchange-traded products and options to generate income.
Goldman has been preparing its own Bitcoin income product, a proposed Goldman Sachs Bitcoin Premium Income ETF that would seek exposure to Bitcoin while using options to generate income.
