Goldman Sachs CEO Solomon Reveals Small Bitcoin Holdings Amid $2 Billion Crypto Exposure
Goldman Sachs CEO David Solomon made headlines after revealing he personally holds a small amount of Bitcoin, stating 'I own a little bitcoin, very little.' He made this admission during his speech at the World Liberty Forum in Palm Beach. This comes as the bank's latest regulatory filings show roughly $2.36 billion in indirect crypto exposure through U.S.-based spot ETFs, including positions in Ethereum, XRP, and Solana.
The disclosure shows a stark contrast to Goldman's institutional posture just a few years ago, when the bank's research teams characterized Bitcoin as a speculative asset with limited utility. The firm has not reduced its Bitcoin position, according to the filing, and the decline represents an unrealized loss of nearly 50%.
Solomon also discussed the bank's efforts in tokenization, stablecoins, and prediction markets, stating 'We have an enormous number of people on the firm extremely focused on tokenization, stablecoins.' He acknowledged the significance of legislative efforts, including the CLARITY Act currently under discussion in Washington.
