Goldman Sachs Dismisses Bitcoin Threat to Gold
Goldman Sachs has weighed in on the debate over whether Bitcoin (BTC) poses an existential threat to gold's status as a safe haven asset.
The investment bank's analysts told Bloomberg that they do not see BTC's rising popularity as a danger to gold's standing, and instead believe the two assets can co-exist.
This comes after JPMorgan suggested that funds are flowing out of gold as institutional investors gain exposure to crypto in a more meaningful way. Goldman Sachs' analysts stated: 'The adoption of Bitcoin by institutional investors has only begun, while for gold its adoption by institutional investors is very advanced.'
BTC's price continues to hover around the $23,000 mark, leading some to claim that it may soon surpass gold as a safe haven asset. However, Goldman Sachs remains unconvinced.
