Goldman Sachs Loads Up on $86.5M in XRP ETFs Amid Price Surge
Goldman Sachs has significantly increased its exposure to XRP through regulated investment products. According to a recent 13F filing, Goldman's reported Q2 holdings in five spot XRP ETFs totaled $86.5 million. Since then, XRP's price has risen, pushing the estimated value of these holdings to around $113.7 million, representing a 31% increase.
This disclosure is notable as it confirms Goldman Sachs had substantial exposure to regulated XRP investment products at the time of the filing. This is in line with expanding institutional interest in crypto, as seen with Morgan Stanley's recent similar filing.
XRP has been on a strong run, outperforming most major cryptocurrencies with a weekly gain of 45.57%. Its price currently stands at $1.51, making it nearly 1.9 times more valuable than Bitcoin over the same period.
The longer-term story for XRP extends beyond its recent price action. Financial institutions are increasingly exploring tokenization, which could put the XRP Ledger in sharper focus due to its native asset and expanding stablecoin and tokenized-asset ecosystem.
