Governments Go All-In on Crypto Mining Incentives Amid Global Rush

Share

Uzbekistan has joined a growing list of governments offering crypto mining tax exemptions as part of efforts to attract foreign investment and boost economic growth. The country's President, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, signed a resolution establishing the Besqala Mining Valley, which will provide tax exemptions for crypto miners until 2035.

This move comes amidst a global trend where governments are offering mining incentives with notable tax trade-offs to attract foreign capital and stimulate economic activity. El Salvador, UAE, Belarus, and Georgia have already implemented similar policies, generating stable revenue through structured fee models on mining revenues and above-market electricity tariffs.

The competitive logic behind these policies is that they can recover infrastructure costs while spurring construction, employment, and foreign investment in regions with limited industrial development. Governments are now viewing crypto mining as an industry worth attracting rather than taxing away.
