Gram Price Jumps as Telegram Rolls Out Self-Custodial Wallet
Telegram has started rolling out its Gram Wallet to select users, causing the price of GRAM to jump by about 2% to near $1.40.
The trading volume surged approximately 137% following the announcement, with the wallet set to become the default self-custodial option in user settings.
Gram Wallet supports zero-fee transfers and payments inside Telegram, as well as purchases of digital gifts, usernames, and phone numbers through the app's collectibles feature.
Network validators approved the smart contract powering Gram Wallet before its phased launch began, allowing for future upgrades without requiring users to migrate their funds.
