Grayscale Boosts BNB to Top Smart Contract Position Amid Rebalancing
Grayscale Investments has rebalanced its Smart Contract Fund, giving BNB (30.6%) a larger weighting than ether (29.47%) and solana (29.15%). The fund's Q2 review saw Grayscale add BNB to the portfolio, trimming UNISWAP (34.16%) in its Decentralized Finance Fund. In its AI-focused fund, NEAR (31.35%) was also reduced, with proceeds redirected into existing positions.
The rebalancing highlights Grayscale's growing institutional focus on smart contract platforms and DeFi protocols. BNB's increased weighting in the Smart Contract Fund reflects its growing prominence among institutional investors. The fund's Q3 2026 review will test whether BNB continues to lead ether and solana in the portfolio.
Grayscale used the proceeds from its UNISWAP sale to increase other existing positions, while its AI fund now holds a more evenly distributed allocation. NEAR still makes up the largest weighting (31.35%) after being reduced as part of the rebalancing process.
