Grayscale Brings Zcash to Mainstream Markets with NYSE Arca ETF Launch
Grayscale has launched its first US Zcash ETF on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH, giving institutional and retail investors direct exposure to ZEC. The fund holds around $260 million in assets under management, representing roughly 391,000 to 393,000 ZEC.
The conversion of Grayscale's long-running Zcash Trust from the OTCQX market marks a significant milestone for the privacy-focused cryptocurrency. With continuous share creation and redemption, prices should remain tightly anchored to the underlying asset.
Authorized participants include Jane Street Capital and Virtu Americas, while Coinbase Custody handles the safekeeping of the underlying ZEC. The fund carries a 2.5% annual sponsor fee, which may face scrutiny from competitors in the space.
ZEC price surged in the lead-up to the launch, reaching approximately $840 to $900 per token with gains of around 6% in 24 hours and roughly 70% over the week. Trading volume and futures open interest have spiked alongside the price rally.
