Grayscale CEO Sells XRP Holdings Amid Interest Rate Concerns
Grayscale CEO Peter Mintzberg has announced plans to sell $53,394.95 worth of XRP through the company's ETF, GXRP. He acquired these shares in October 2024 before GXRP became an exchange-traded fund. The sale will be conducted through Cantor Fitzgerald on the NYSE Arca.
Mintzberg is not the first Grayscale executive to reduce their investment in GXRP. Previously, Digital Currency Group founder Barry Silbert and Grayscale Chief Legal Officer Craig Salm notified the SEC to sell a portion of their GXRP shares prior to the IPO.
The market observers believe that Mintzberg's decision to sell XRP is due to concerns about the Fed's interest rate hikes and the delay in the Clarity Act. The GXRP launched via private placement in September 2024, and insiders purchased shares at that stage, long before the IPO.
