Grayscale Files Fifth Amendment for Proposed Zcash ETF
Grayscale has filed its fifth amendment for the proposed Zcash ETF, bringing the conversion process closer to reality. The filing details the planned ticker symbol as ZCH and sets a 2.5% annual sponsor fee. The existing Grayscale Zcash Trust held over $260 million when the amendment appeared.
The transfer agent will be Bank of New York Mellon, while Coinbase Custody will safeguard the ZEC supporting continuously issued fund shares. This structure allows for indeterminate share creation and redemption processes, helping market makers narrow price gaps between the ETF and its underlying asset value.
A 200,000 ZEC contribution from a DCG affiliate remains nonbinding, and regulatory approval is still pending. The SEC must allow the registration statement to become effective, while NYSE Arca needs authority to list and trade the shares.
