Grayscale Files to Convert Bitcoin Cash Trust into Spot ETF
Grayscale Investments has filed an amended S-3 registration statement with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission to convert its Bitcoin Cash Trust into a spot exchange-traded fund (ETF). The proposed ETF, named Grayscale Bitcoin Cash Trust ETF, would list on NYSE Arca under the BCHG ticker.
This move is part of Grayscale's effort to bring one of its single-asset crypto trusts onto a major U.S. exchange. The firm has previously converted other trusts into spot ETFs, including Litecoin and Zcash.
The proposed listing would rely on NYSE Arca's Rule 8.201-E, a generic listing standard for commodity-based exchange-traded products. Grayscale aims to align trust share prices more closely with the value of the digital assets they hold.
