Grayscale Lists First US Spot Zcash ETF Amid Regulatory Paradox
The Grayscale Zcash Trust has been restructured into the first US-listed spot Zcash ETF, listed on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCSH. The fund holds approximately $304 million in assets and offers direct spot exposure to Zcash, with a 2.50% management fee directed toward Zcash ecosystem development.
The SEC approved this conversion despite proposing tighter rules for every other digital asset around the same time. This contradiction highlights what regulators fear most about financial privacy.
ZEC surged 66% in the week surrounding the listing, reaching an eight-year high of over $850. The network is now functioning as a privacy chain in practice rather than theory, with shielded transactions accounting for roughly 90% of all Zcash network activity.
