Grayscale Predicts Smart Contract Platforms Will Outshine Bitcoin with CLARITY Act Passage
Zach Pandl, Head of Research at Grayscale Investments, believes that if the CLARITY Act passes in the Senate on September 15, it will be a positive catalyst for crypto.
However, he thinks this rally may favor smart contract platforms over Bitcoin itself. The goal behind the legislation is to normalize how crypto is regulated relative to other established industries.
Pandl wants to see crypto treated as a 'normal industry', providing value to people worldwide, just like other technologies.
He argues that Bitcoin already carries the clearest regulatory status in the industry, which could limit its additional upside from the CLARITY Act. Instead, smart contract platforms and application-layer projects are better positioned to benefit from new regulatory clarity.
Ethereum, Solana, Avalanche, Sui, Chainlink, Uniswap, and other assets like these may see more benefits than Bitcoin in this case.
