Grayscale Prepares Litecoin Trust for NYSE Arca Listing
Grayscale's recent filing sets the stage for the listing of its Litecoin ETF on the NYSE Arca. The plan involves renaming the trust, Grayscale Litecoin Trust ETF, and seeking a NYSE Arca listing.
This move follows an update filed by the company in 2025, which aimed to convert the trust into a full ETF structure, similar to its Bitcoin and Ethereum trusts. These conversions have been successful for Grayscale, resulting in two of the largest crypto funds on the market.
The Grayscale Litecoin Trust ETF currently trades under the ticker LTCN, but it has no easy way to add or remove shares, causing a pricing gap between the trust's share price and the underlying value of Litecoin. An ETF structure would allow for authorized participants to create or redeem ETF shares, helping keep the market price closer to the fund's underlying value.
The filing plans for the trust to be renamed Grayscale Litecoin Trust ETF and aims for a NYSE Arca listing once cleared. The SEC must clear a related exchange rule first, which has already run past its 2025 goal more than once. Once it clears, a Grayscale Litecoin ETF listing could follow within days.
