Grayscale Puts Money Where Its Mouth Is on Zcash
Grayscale has made good on its promise to support Zcash, directing all of its first-year management fees to promote the cryptocurrency and raise awareness about its own ZCSH product. The digital asset manager's spot Zcash ETF launched in August and carries a 2.5% annual sponsor fee, although it is unclear if this rate will be reduced after the initial year.
The commitment is entirely voluntary, meaning Grayscale can modify or discontinue the arrangement at any time without obligation to investors. The fee remains the same regardless of whether the money goes toward ecosystem promotion or Grayscale's bottom line.
The ZCSH product offers everyday investors access to ZEC exposure, previously only available through a private placement vehicle that limited access to accredited investors and traded at significant premiums or discounts.
