Grayscale Seeks Regulated Litecoin Exposure with Spot ETF Conversion
Grayscale Investments has taken another step towards converting its Litecoin Trust into a spot exchange-traded fund. In an amendment filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on September 11, Grayscale said it intends to rename the vehicle the Grayscale Litecoin Trust ETF and list its shares on NYSE Arca once the registration statement becomes effective.
The move would give LTCN holders a regulated, exchange-listed wrapper for Litecoin exposure. The conversion is not yet complete and still hinges on regulatory approval, which includes both an effective registration statement and completed 19b-4 approval before trading can begin.
Grayscale has used a similar conversion playbook for other single-asset trusts, including its Zcash vehicle, which topped $500 million after options launched on NYSE Arca. The Litecoin filing also lands as other issuers such as Canary Capital advance their own crypto ETF listings.
