Grayscale Seeks SEC Approval for First US Spot Zcash ETF
Grayscale is moving closer to launching its proposed Zcash ETF. The asset manager has filed its fifth amendment with the Securities and Exchange Commission, a crucial step towards converting its existing Zcash Trust into a conventional exchange-traded fund.
The new structure will allow investors to access Zcash through traditional brokerage accounts, providing regulated market exposure to this privacy-focused cryptocurrency.
Grayscale plans to rename the trust The Zcash ETF and list it on NYSE Arca under the ticker ZCH. The proposed fund will charge an annual sponsor fee of 2.5%, with Bank of New York Mellon handling transfer-agent duties and Coinbase Custody Trust Company safeguarding its Zcash holdings.
Grayscale expects to issue shares continuously at prices linked partly to ZEC, which is currently holding more than $260 million in assets.
