Grayscale Sees Zcash as Potential Threat to Bitcoin Market Share
Grayscale Research has put out a positive report on Zcash (ZEC), a cryptocurrency that's risen nearly 19 times in value over the past year. According to Grayscale, Zcash offers users broader options regarding financial privacy compared to Bitcoin (BTC).
The company praises Zcash for its technology that allows users to keep their transaction information private, which it believes could become an increasingly important feature as AI-powered surveillance and data analysis become more prevalent.
Grayscale also notes that Zcash developers are working on long-term threats such as cybersecurity risks posed by quantum computers, and strengthening the project's connection with different blockchain networks through technologies called 'intents'.
The report states that despite its relatively low market capitalization of less than 1% compared to Bitcoin, there is still significant room for competition in the sector. Grayscale argues that Zcash can continue to increase its share if it expands its technological advantages and use cases.
