Grayscale Urges Senate Vote on CLARITY Act Before Crunch August Deadline
Grayscale Investments has urged the US Senate to schedule a floor vote on the CLARITY Act before its August recess. The company argues that months of bipartisan negotiations have produced a framework balancing investor protection with regulatory clarity for the cryptocurrency industry.
The CLARITY Act, or Clarity for Digital Tokens Act of 2025, aims to establish a federal framework for classifying digital assets as commodities or securities. It has undergone significant revisions since its introduction, addressing jurisdictional overlaps between the SEC and CFTC.
Grayscale's letter dated July 25 argues that the current bill 'protects investors, prevents legitimate developers from exercising excessive authority, and provides the certainty Americans deserve.'
The push for a vote before August recess is strategic. If the Senate fails to act, the bill's momentum could stall, and the legislative calendar for fall is already crowded with appropriations and other must-pass items.
