Grayscale's Zcash ETF Brings Decentralized Privacy to Mainstream Investors
Grayscale's new Zcash ETF, trading under the ticker symbol ZCSH, has debuted on the NYSE Arca exchange. This marks the first time a Zcash-focused investment product has been available in the exchange-traded market.
The Zcash network, launched in 2016, combines Bitcoin-style scarcity with optional privacy features through shielded transactions. Users can choose to keep their transactions transparent or private, using cryptographic design to secure sensitive information such as sender and recipient details.
Grayscale's ZCSH fund provides investors with a new way to access the Zcash market without needing to store private keys or manage direct token ownership. However, Grayscale cautions that investment in shares of ZCSH is not an investment in ZEC itself, and warns of significant volatility and risk.
