Grayscale's Zcash ETF Launches on NYSE Arca Amid Privacy Concerns
Grayscale's Zcash ETF (ZCSH) began trading on NYSE Arca on August 25, offering investors a clean way to buy exposure to ZEC without dealing with the token itself. However, this new product does not provide the privacy that made Zcash famous.
The fund gives investors access to one of crypto's best-known privacy coins through a brokerage account, priced like a fund and watched through the same market machinery as any other ETF-style crypto product. Grayscale said in its launch announcement that ZCSH is the first exchange-traded product in the world to offer spot exposure to ZEC.
The management fee for ZCSH is 2.50%, which is higher than BlackRock's spot Bitcoin ETF, which charges 0.25%. Grayscale says all management fees will support the Zcash ecosystem and marketing work for up to 12 months, although this commitment can be changed or stopped.
ZEC had already seen a significant price increase before the launch of ZCSH, closing at $568.97 on August 20 and $768.01 on August 25. The token closed above $850 on August 23.
