Grok Brings AI-Powered Crypto Payments to Conversational Platform
Grok, an AI-powered conversational platform, has integrated MoonPay's PayBox to simplify cryptocurrency transactions for its users. This integration marks a significant step towards agentic commerce, where artificial intelligence helps users move from requesting information to preparing financial transactions.
With the launch of PayBox in Grok, eligible users can now prepare crypto purchases, swaps, transfers, and other payments directly from an AI conversation using natural language instructions. The platform's security model is designed to protect users' private wallet keys, with threshold cryptography and secure enclaves preventing any single participant, including MoonPay or the AI agent, from independently signing transactions.
The user must approve each transaction using a passkey, ensuring that Grok does not have permanent authority over financial assets. This integration is part of X's broader strategy to develop its payment infrastructure, which includes FDIC-insured interest-bearing accounts and peer-to-peer transfers through Cross River Bank.
