GSR Boosts BTC Exposure as Crypto Markets Struggle with Weak Trading Activity

Crypto markets continued to struggle with weaker trading activity this week, resulting in sharp declines for Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana. According to GSR's latest weekly market commentary, the firm raised its allocation to Bitcoin while reducing exposure to Ether in its Core3 model portfolio.

As of August 5, Bitcoin represented 19.3% of the allocation, while Ether held the largest share at 44.1%. Solana accounted for 36.5%.

The move comes after a quiet week marked by lower volatility across major cryptocurrencies. GSR's Core3 model portfolio has lost 57.78% over the past year, trailing an equal-weight basket that declined 49.84% during the same period.

Bitcoin faces key resistance near $67,000, while $60,000 remains a major higher timeframe support level. A move above $67,000 would establish a higher daily high and shift Bitcoin into a more bullish market structure.
