GSR Portfolio Falls 58% as Bitcoin Outperforms Ethereum and Solana
GSR's Crypto Core3 portfolio experienced a significant decline in value over the past year, falling by 58%. This is a stark reminder that even professionally managed portfolios are not immune to market volatility. The portfolio's performance was compared to an equal-weight portfolio of Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, which fell by 49.84% during the same period.
The latest portfolio allocation shows that GSR has increased its exposure to Bitcoin while reducing its allocation to Ethereum. As of August 5, the portfolio consists of:
Ethereum: 44.1%
Solana: 36.5%
Bitcoin: 19.3%
Despite the rebalance, Ethereum remains the largest holding in the portfolio at 44.1%. Bitcoin has been the strongest performer among the three assets this year, down 24.82% year-to-date and 47.08% over the past year. It gained 1.26% over the last 30 days.
Market analyst IamDegenLabs noted that several developments could improve Solana's outlook in the coming weeks, including governance proposals to increase token burns and reduce inflation, as well as continued ETF inflows. The analyst also pointed out that $75 is a key resistance level for Solana, with a move above it potentially pushing SOL towards $78-$80.
