GTA 6 Hype Boosts Take-Two Stock Token Launch on Solana
The wait for Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is building up in both traditional and crypto markets. Take-Two Interactive, the publisher behind GTA 6, has launched a tokenized version of its stock on the Solana blockchain through the Sunrise platform by Backpack Securities.
This move allows investors to buy and trade TTWO shares directly through their Solana wallets without needing a traditional brokerage account. The digital stocks can be traded 24/7 on compatible platforms like Jupiter, giving global investors constant access to the stock. Unlike meme tokens that only track a company's name, every TTWO token is backed by one real Take-Two share purchased in the U.S. stock market.
The timing of this launch coincides with upcoming events surrounding GTA 6, including an extended look event on Netflix's Tudum platform on August 27 and the game's release on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Take-Two's quarterly earnings also reaffirmed its release schedule while projecting over $1 billion in operating cash flow by fiscal 2027.
Take-Two shares did experience a minor drop of around 1% after the earnings report, now trading at $232.
