GTA 6 Hype Fuels Cryptocurrency Frenzy and Scams
The hype around Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) has created a frenzy of cryptocurrency-related activity, even though the game is not yet released. The sixth installment in the popular franchise is scheduled for release on November 19, 2026, and fans have been waiting since September 2013 for GTA 5.
The game's massive fan base has led to the emergence of memecoins, which are surging due to leaks and rumors about the game. One such memecoin, CYBERLEEK, reached a market capitalization of around $25 million in August after its creators began publishing stolen GTA 6 materials.
However, this hype has also attracted scammers who are exploiting the situation by selling fake early access to the game for Bitcoin, Ethereum, or USDT. These websites claim to offer VIP Digital Access for $250, but users are left with nothing after sending their cryptocurrency.
