A string of high-profile leaks of Grand Theft Auto 6 (GTA 6) gameplay footage has been linked to an individual or group known as Cyberleek, who was using the opportunity to promote and profit from their own cryptocurrency token, $CYBERLEEK.

Cyberleek had been releasing daily clips since August 18, all of which included links to invest in the token. The leaks were reportedly designed to be attention-grabbing, with Rockstar Games even issuing an apology to fans over the situation.

However, it appears that Cyberleek's moment in the sun may be over, as they have allegedly collected around $270,000 (£198,700) from the token and moved the cash to various cyber wallets. This has caused the coin's value to plummet.

The leaks are said to have profited Cyberleek by around $241,000 (£177,362), measured against estimated setup costs of $29,000 (£21,342). It is claimed that this indicates the token is 'likely done', and it remains to be seen whether Rockstar will catch up with the perpetrators.
